Deep Black (Nick Stone # 7)
Andy McNab
Published: September 1st 2011 by Corgi (first published November 1st 2004)
Format:Paperback
Pages:512

Goodreads: Nick Stone's future looks bleak. The only person he's ever loved is dead. The only people who might save him have turned their backs.
Until a chance encounter reunited him with a man whose life he saved ten years ago. What seems a simple quest in Baghdad takes Stone into the heart of a chilling conspiracy, from violent Bosnia, through lightening-paced action in Iraq. But too late, he realizes that he is being used as bait to lure into the open a man he believes can offer some salvation. A man whom the darker forces of the West will stop at nothing to destroy...

Nick Stone  is coming to terms with the death of Kelly and event that brought him face to face with another dead girl who haunts him. To make matters worse circumstances bring him face to face with a man he saved 10 years ago in the same place the young girl died.  All his old friend wants is to get one last photo and for Stone to go with him to protect him. The photo he wants? The man Stone saw in the same place Zina was killed! His interested is spiked and he wants answers! But when disaster starts to occur everywhere Stone goes he questions what he is going. Things only get worse when he finds out hes been set up by the one man he hates. Will Stone get out of this alive or now he has quit the firm is this is final good bye?

Its been a while since i read an Andy McNab book. As much as i love the books i found reading 6 back to back was starting to get boring as all the books have a similar layout.  So i put this book down in July and picked it back up this month and i have to stay am glad i did because i enjoyed them again am going straight in to reading the next one. As always McNab has wrote an action packed adventure where you will constantly be guessing  constantly on edge waiting for the next thing to happen. That is one thing i like about this book is you have the same feeling as the character knowing you have nothing, no matter where you go the enemy will find you and you have know idea when they are coming and you have no resources to help! The one thing i really liked about this book as Stone was on his own, he has traveled with Jerry on his own not with the firm. He has know weapons or gadgets and no funding or resources, i liked that he has to think on this feet and make the most of what he can get around him. I was gripped by this book from the beginning to end, With McNab's books you always know a twist is coming. In this book i was sat going its him it has to be hes the bad one, nope i was wrong! an adrenaline action filled adventure!

I liked Stone in this book, you saw a more vulnerable side after Kelly died and actually see him having to come to terms with her death and also come to terms with some of his past that is haunting him. I thought Stone was more macho in this book as he was on his own and had to make his own decisions and make his own way it wasn't just a mission.

An amazing action packed thriller!

Mine completely ( The Billionaire's Obsession Valentines day Romance)

Published: January 15th 2013 by Scott Publishing
Format: Kindle
Pages: 68

Goodreads:
Author Note: This book is a short story add-on which is part of The Billionaire's Obsession Trilogy. If you chose to read this book without first reading The Billionaire's Obsession trilogy, you probably won't understand the references to previous events or the characters' personalities. It is recommended that you read Kara and Simon's story before reading this book.

This was a nice ending to the series and tied up all the ends and left it open for Maddie and Sam's story.

Kara and Simon have now been together for a year and are a month away from getting married when Kara starts to act strangely Simon is frantic to find out whats wrong! he is over joyed when he finds out Kara is pregnant! There relationship is stronger than ever but it is the other Hudson brother how is trying to win his girls heart, but will he succeed?

I like this book it was a nice ending to Kara and Simon's story. I enjoyed the fact that Kara accepted his money and their relationship in this book  and Simon his more easy going. I liked that you got to see Kara as a qualified nurse. I was so happy when i found out that Kara was pregnant! after what the couple have been through they deserved a happy ending. you could still see elements of their old ways of Kara not wanting Simon's money and Simon being an over baring fool but it was nice to see that the author wasn't trying to make there relationship seem perfect, it felt very down to earth am more real than the other books. I thought it was a good cross over that you saw Simon getting his happy ending but Sam just trying to get his.

A Lovely end

Mine forever (The billionaire's Obsession # 3)

Published:  November 25th 2012 by Scott Publishing
Format: Kindle
Pages:74

GoodreadsMine Forever is Book 3 of The Billionaire's Obsession trilogy and is not a stand alone book. Mine For Tonight, Book 1 and Mine For Now, Book 2 should be read before this title.
Genre: Adult Contemporary Erotic RomanceDown on her luck, nursing student and full-time waitress Kara Foster gets a massive blow to her already desperate financial situation that will surely find her living on the streets. Needing nothing less than a miracle to save her, Kara gets rescue from an unknown, unlikely and overwhelming source. Billionaire Simon Hudson makes her an offer that is impossible to refuse, but terrifying to accept from a man that she's never met. Will the handsome, alpha billionaire really be a solution to her problems, or will he end up being a major complication and a danger to her emotional sanity?Reclusive billionaire Simon Hudson would rather be behind a computer creating computer games than rubbing elbows with the elite and he knows exactly what he wants...until he meets Kara Foster. Something about Kara touches Simon in ways he's never experienced and definitely doesn't like. For over a year, Simon watches over Kara, but stubbornly refuses to admit his desire to possess her, not even to himself. But when she ends up in a situation that could very well be her destruction, Simon steps up to help her, not realizing that in saving Kara, he might very well be salvaging his own soul.

Kara wakes in hospital after a brutal attack with Simon by her side. She moved back to in his house and their relationship progresses again, Kara worries about whether she is becoming to attached to Simon when he doesn't form long term relationships or gets emotionally involved. but when Simon opens up about his past and goes all out on valentines day Kara cant help but feel like there relationship is going somewhere. Will Simon and Kara make it or are they destined to be alone.

I wanted to read this book after reading the other two. I didn't no what to expect as i didn't like the first book but liked the second one and i think this was the best book yet. The storyline picked up from where the last book ended. I thought the book had more content that the other books and flowed better. I still think that it would have been better if all 3 books had been put in one book, i sounds when you read it as if it was wrote as one book then split in to 3 i wasn't impressed with the books at first but i think had bit been all one book it would have flowed better and been a really good book as it is its split up in inappropriate place and makes the story  end and start in places where it should have ended.

The characters are the same as in the other books i think you see a softer side of Simon in this book as his walls crumble and you see a more confident side of Kara.

A great finish to the series

Mine for Now ( the Billionaire's Obsession #2)

Published:October 25th 2012 by Scott Publishing
Format: Kindle
Pages:90

Goodreads: Mine For Now is Book 2 of The Billionaire's Obsession trilogy and is not a stand alone book. Mine For Tonight, Book 1, should be read before this title.
Will the handsome, alpha billionaire really be a solution to her problems, or will he end up being a major complication and a danger to her emotional sanity?
Reclusive billionaire Simon Hudson would rather be behind a computer creating computer games than rubbing elbows with the elite and he knows exactly what he wants...until he meets Kara Foster.

Kara is unsure about a night she spent with Simon. to her this was something special but when her takes her to her own room she believes she must be wrong. They fall in to a comfortable routine and there relationship starts to grow. Kara is the one for Simon and she starts to break down his walls including seeing his scares and sleeping together without blindfolds and restraints. Kara starts to fall for Simon and feels like there starting something so when she is invited to his big birthday party at his brother mansion she is nervous to not let him down and make a good impression. Unfortunately her night goes far from planned in an attempt to get some fresh air she sees Simon out side with a perfect blonde around his neck making an agreement for his next submissive, and when the blonde pulls his lips to her its to much for Kara she leaves the party goes back to the his house and packs her stuff.  when a distraught Simon gets home he finds Kara gone! With his brother trying to get her to speak to him will Simon get Kara back?

After reading the first book i wasn't sure what to make of this book. i have to say this book was better than the first one. unlike the first one this book had more content and more of a story line. I think if this book and the first had been put in to one book it would have been a lot better. it was a nice short story. I enjoyed the relationship between Kara and Simon. I am looking forward to reading the next book.
i still think all books should just have been one book as this book also ended in a stupid place where it made no sense to leave the story.
I liked Kara in this book shes still strong willed and gives Simon a run for his sanity, Simon is good in this book as he is coming out his shell more and more. The wounded bird aspect still irritates me.

A good read

Reclusive billionaire Simon Hudson would rather be behind a computer creating computer games than rubbing elbows with the elite and he knows exactly what he wants...until he meets Kara Foster.

Nursing student Kara is down on her luck, shes been struggling since the death of her parents constantly fighting to survive. Juggling Work and school she is exhausted and her day gets a whole lot worse when she spills coffee down her clothes meaning she has to accept her friends barley there clothing. After work her day gets worse when she almost passes out in the street from a virus. luckily her bosses son Simon was there to save her and take her to his house. little did she know Simon has been watching her a long time just wishing to have her in his bed. Kara's life takes another turn for the worst when she finds out her flat mate has taken all of her stuff and shes been evicted from her flat. worried about where she is going to live and how to get on her feet Simon offers her everything, she can live with him he will buy her things and financially support her on one condition....... she stops working........ and he can have one night with her fully surrendered, will she submit to his charm or walk away?

I got this book on my kindle free from amazon so i thought i would give it a chance. It was a nice short story so i could read it in one sit. i thought the story line was ok and i enjoyed. I thought they could have been more to the story but for the 55 pages it wasn't bad,
i do question why like christian grey he has loads of money its a bit like a teenage girls childish fantasy to have a rich man on the plus i liked this book better than fifty shades Simon was far less irritating than christian. I think it might have been better to put at least the first two books together as not significant happens in the first book and there's no build she up, she loses everything stays in a strangers house then has sex with him the it just ends, the ending is so random i would have preferred it to have some meaning its like the story just ends in the middle of a book there's no cliff hanger or anything her puts her in her room she rolls over sad ans has a dream and it just ends. I just thought there was something missing.

I liked the characters, i found Simon to be over baring and irritating but like all stereotype erotic dominant men he has deep wounds , i would to see a dominant character without underlying heart break. i know it is supposed to create the illusion of being soft underneath and vulnerable but you can do that without him being emotionally scared. I liked Kara he was determined and independent. I really felt for her, you see the vulnerable side in the hopeless situation she is in.

a nice little read

After fighting Ares Alex's confidence has been shattered. but things are about to get a whole lot worse! with the mortal world on the brink of war she must find a way to stop Ares! But that is no where near as simple as it seems! with Seth back on the seen claiming he has changed , two gods toying with her emotions and a untrustworthy god leading them in to the underworld to unleash hell on earth the stakes have never been higher.Alex must become the god killer to destroy Ares. But can she do it? will Seth really pass his power over? will the pressure destroy her before she succeeds? even if she succeeds what will be left of the world after Ares?

This was a fantastic end to the series! Once again Jennifer has wrote a Magical story full of adventure, heart break, action and suspense. I was hanging on the end of my seat for the whole book. The were parts of the book where i was like no! parts where i could feel the anxiety setting in my stomach and times when i was like awwwwwww and believe me times when you will go WHAT! did that just happen. I thought the story was amazing it tied all the ends of the other books together and bought them together for and amazing end. I want to cry at the  end of the book it was so perfect. when i was getting close to the end i was sat going no! that can not happen! she can  not leave it like that! but thankfully the ending was perfect! in is heart warming. I loved how the book kept you guessing, you are sat going what are they going to do? the you get a slight but of information that sort of answers the question but you are still kept guessing how it is going to turn out. I loved the contrast between the loved between Alex and Aiden, the friends and the action in the battle. Once again Jennifer provided and amazing story that will captivate you from the first page and have you addicted.

Alex was amazing in this book, at the beginning when she was moping and not communicating with Aiden i was irritated but later when the old kick ass Alex was back i was over the moon and loved her witty humour.  Aiden is as swoon  worthy as ever if  not i loved him more in this book! he is cute but yet so manly and macho at the same time.  I hated Seth in the other books and i mean a hate beyond a way I've hated a character before but in this book her totally makes up for been a tool and by the end all was forgiven and i loved him!

An amazing book and a brilliant end to the series it a must read!

Hi Everyone i am so excited to be hosting the souls Of the Rain Blog tour! Do i have a treat for you. Here is a Review of Diana's
First book in the Heavens Trilogy!

The Souls of the Rain (Heavens Trilogy #1)
Diana Nixon
Published: first published December 23rd 2013
Format:Kindle
Pages:245

Goodreads:

The secrets of the heavens had always been carefully guarded. Until one day when the angels realized that what they used to believe in was nothing but a cruel game between heaven and hell.

And Claire’s life is a part of that game too….

She is a guardian angel. She always thought that her existence was perfect. But perfection is a very relative term, and no one is protected from making mistakes.

Everything changes the moment Claire gets a new assignment. Guarding humans has never been easy, and this time won’t be an exception.
Alan Rosenford is a spoilt party-boy, whose life is a hurricane of risk and adrenaline rush. His soul is damaged, his heart is bleeding, and there are so many things he prefers to keep private….
The words they have never said before ….
The sins they have never committed….
How much does forgiveness of the heavens cost?
Or maybe even the heavens make mistakes?..

I am so happy to be on another of Diana's Blog tours. I love all of Diana's books so i couldn't wait to read this one. I had high expectations for this book because of how amazing Diana's bother books are and this book was far beyond my expectations.

Claire is a guardian angle and not just any guardian angle but one of the best! saving the lives of humans from demons for  hundreds of year and her new assignment a car racing , alcohol drinking , smoking party boy fueled by adrenaline risk taking. But Claire's life starts to get a little crazy when Alan can see her in her true form. When secrets about the heavens battle with hell start to emerge Clair is confused about who she can Trust, with a secretive, sly assistant around her, a fallen angel helping her, her powers changing and her feelings for Alan boarding the forbidden line  Claire's life is in turmoil!  with secrets about her past coming out will she be able to save herself from hell and stay in the heavens or has hell got its mark on her?

What can i say but wow wow wow! I was not expecting that. This was the first book i have Read about Angels and i loved it! As always Diana as spun a magic story of suspense, mystery and love. The story was amazing it was like nothing i have ever read! The plot was exceptional, normally i can guess the plot of a book but with this book you are constantly guessing you are given little bits of information like clues along the way but they don't make sense until the end , i was sat for the who book not knowing who to trust everyone seemed to have there secrets and motives, you are just hanging on  the edge of you seat the whole time not knowing what is going to happen. its like a story of forbidden fruit! you are hoping the characters will end up together and trying to find ways to bend the rules but no that the situation is hopeless and i think that entices you in even more. In true Diana fashion the ending is a massive cliff hanger i was sat just going ' no! you cant leave it like that' i can not wait for the next book so i can see what happens next! Diana is my favorite author and i love all of the books she has written but i can not decided if this has been my favorite book yet.

I loved all the characters in the book. Claire is an amazing female lead, she is strong, brave and witty. everything you would want from a main character . I like how throughout the book you can see her life changing and the emotions that go along with it, including the vulnerability.
Alan is an amazing character, i love how you see the harder side of him at first but see him come out of his shell the longer he spends with Claire, i enjoyed watching there relationship start to play out. Nolan was an amazing character he had me laughing the whole way through the book.

Amazing, mystifying, suspense and  Magic! A story of Love worth fighting heaven and hell for! A true masterpiece! I cant praise it enough!
