Effortless (Thoughtless #2)
S.C. Stephens
Expected publication: January 8th 2013 by Gallery Books (first published March 15th 2011)

Goodreads:  After being caught in the middle of a love triangle which led to a devastating betrayal, Kiera pledged to learn from the mistakes she’d made. She was determined to never again inflict that kind of pain on anyone, especially the soulful, talented man who held her heart. But life offers new challenges for every relationship, and when Kiera’s love is put to the ultimate test, will it survive? Love is easy . . . trust is hard.

I read thoughtless after getting it from netgalley and i loved it so i was excited to read the second one and i was not disappointed. After reading the original ending to Thoughtless i appreciate this book so much more.

After making it through  a horrible love triangle Kiera is over the moon to be with the man she loves. But when Kellen's band is given the opportunity of a live time their relationship is under threat. With memories of how their relationship started stirring insurities Kiera vows to never cheat on Kellen the beautiful man she loves. but with distance between them, mysterious texts and suspecious behaviour and Keira's ex back in town will their relationship survive? Loving Kellen is easy.....Trusting his past indiscretions are harder!

I really enjoyed this book after reading thoughless i really wanted tosee if kiera and Kellen could make it work. I really like the storyline of the book because it is so close to life, i think it really shows how trust and love dont always go together. I loved the end of the book it was a big awwww moment!  The only thing that spoiled the book for me was that i guessed the plot lines i was sat with my fiance going "this is going to happen" "thats not going to happen" " i bet its this person" so in a way the suspense wasnt there for me, but i loved it all the same the story was still brilliant!

Kiera irriataed me so much in this book, in thoughtless she irriated me for bed hoping but i empathised with her position and felt sorry for her. in this book she was moaning about anything! if i had the suspitions she had i would be on the phone staright away asking the truth and i certainly wouldnt hop back in bed with him! I did feel sorry for her when she was upset.
Kellen on the othehand i loved! he was so sweet and loving in this book! you completely see the other side you see a glimpse of in thoughless! I love the vulnerable side you see in this book, he gets so exhausted and worn down when an unexpected event happens that you just want to wrap him up!
Griffin really surprised me in this book, unitil the end the boy made me sick but her came true at the end for anna's sake and i loved him for it!

I thought this book was brilliant, i showed what happend to the characters relationships when denny moved then returns, how kiera and kellen have to try and fight for there relationshipand how denny gets his happy ending i cant wait to read reckless but with a name like that and the oringinal ending of thoughtless am going to be reading it throough my fingers!
Reading this was purly effortless =)

Goodreads:
Rise up while you can. -Georgia Mason

The year was 2014. The year we cured cancer. The year we cured the common cold. And the year the dead started to walk. The year of the Rising.

The year was 2039. The world didn't end when the zombies came, it just got worse. Georgia and Shaun Mason set out on the biggest story of their generation. They uncovered the biggest conspiracy since the Rising and realized that to tell the truth, sacrifices have to be made.

Now, the year is 2041, and the investigation that began with the election of President Ryman is much bigger than anyone had assumed. With too much left to do and not much time left to do it in, the surviving staff of After the End Times must face mad scientists, zombie bears, rogue government agencies-and if there's one thing they know is true in post-zombie America, it's this:

Things can always get worse.

Dearly Departed ( Gone with the respiration #2)( i actually cant wait i've been waiting a whole year)
Lia Habel
Published September 25th 2012 by Del Rey

Goodreads:
Can the living coexist with the living dead?

That’s the question that has New Victorian society fiercely divided ever since the mysterious plague known as “The Laz” hit the city of New London and turned thousands into walking corpses. But while some of these zombies are mindless monsters, hungry for human flesh, others can still think, speak, reason, and control their ravenous new appetites.

Just ask Nora Dearly, the young lady of means who was nearly kidnapped by a band of sinister zombies but valiantly rescued by a dashing young man . . . of the dead variety.

Nora and her savior, the young zombie soldier Bram Griswold, fell hopelessly in love. But others feel only fear and loathing for the reanimated dead. Now, as tensions grow between pro- and anti-zombie factions, battle lines are being drawn in the streets. And though Bram is no longer in the New Victorian army, he and his ex-commando zombie comrades are determined to help keep the peace. That means taking a dangerous stand between The Changed, a radical group of sentient zombies fighting for survival, and The Murder, a masked squad of urban guerrillas hellbent on destroying the living dead. But zombies aren’t the only ones in danger: Their living allies are also in The Murder’s crosshairs, and for one vengeful zealot, Nora Dearly is the number one target.

As paranoia, prejudice, and terrorist attacks threaten to plunge the city into full-scale war, Nora’s scientist father and his team continue their desperate race to unlock the secrets of “The Laz” and find a cure. But their efforts may be doomed when a mysterious zombie appears bearing an entirely new strain of the virus—and the nation of New Victoria braces for a new wave of the apocalypse.

Goodreads: No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Goodreads: Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.

If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate...

Thoughtless

Published June 11th 2011 by CreateSpace

Goodreads: For almost two years now, Kiera's boyfriend, Denny, has been everything she's ever wanted: loving, tender and endlessly devoted to her. When they head off to a new city to start their lives together, Denny at his dream job and Kiera at a top-notch university, everything seems perfect. Then an unforeseen obligation forces the happy couple apart.

Feeling lonely, confused, and in need of comfort, Kiera turns to an unexpected source—a local rock star named Kellan Kyle. At first, he's purely a friend that she can lean on, but as her loneliness grows, so does their relationship. And then one night everything changes...and none of them will ever be the same.

I found this book on netgalley and really wanted to read it, i wasnt dissapointed it was amazing.

Kira moves from Ohio to to Seattle to be with boyfriend of two years Denny. They move in with Denny's friend rock star Kellan Kyle. When Denny is called away from work Kira finds comfort in Kellan. What starts of as a friendship soon turns in to something far more. When Denny drops everything to return to Kira she is riddled with guilt over her feelings for Kellan. Caught in a love triangle Kira must choose between her safe life with her love of two years Denny or her passioned filled life with Kellan. With Denny wanting to move to Australia and have a comfortable life there and Kellan's admission of love Kira must choose. will she pick a risky life of passion or stay on the safe road?

I loved this book! from the first chapter i was hooked. i fell in love with the characters straightway! I got so involved in the story! i remember one day i was reading it and Kellan said something harsh to Kira and i walked out my house upset and angry pouring my heart out i just got so involved! I think this story will stay with me for awhile. I think it was because it was so well written and so close to situations that happen in real life.

I feel in love with Kellan! who wouldn't he is described to bed amazingly hunky! and looks something like the guy on the right. I loved the fact that he is this hard rock star, he has raw passion, blazing anger, heated passion and a seductive smile. but underneath all that charm you see this vulnerable side that Kira brings out, you see that boy that got beaten by his father, was hated by his parents and had never felt love. I loved his macho side  but loved the Kellan that cried over losing Kira even more!

Kira was slightly irritating, i know she loved Denny and i know she loved Kellan but her bed hopping got on my nerves.  She seemed to whine about everything! and sometimes was a shrinking violet. The most irritating thing is after Denny leaves she doesn't tell Kellan that she is in love with him and just lets him walk away! (even when he is sweet enough to write songs for her and get a tatoo that reminds him of her)

Although i loved Denny, his goofy grin and warm brown eyes i still loved Kellan more he didn't have that hotness that Kellan has. he a sweet goody goody while Kellan has that bad boy but sweet thing going on!

I cant wait to read Effortless! i want to see what happens to Kira and Kellan! i would definitely recommend this book and i wanna read it again! I think this is a book that will stay with me for a long time!

The “normals” of McKinley High might be quick to write her behavior off as post-traumatic stress, but warlock Raj McKenna is the only person who suspects Gray has returned from the dead.

Goodreads: I gasped, or tried to. My mouth opened, but I couldn’t draw breath. His lips, pearly wet, parted and he blew into my mouth. My lungs expanded beneath his weight. When I exhaled he sucked my breath in and his weight turned from cold marble into warm living flesh.

Since accepting a teaching position at remote Fairwick College in upstate New York, Callie McFay has experienced the same disturbingly erotic dream every night: A mist enters her bedroom, then takes the shape of a virile, seductive stranger who proceeds to ravish her in the most toe-curling, wholly satisfying ways possible. Perhaps these dreams are the result of her having written the bestselling book The Sex Lives of Demon Lovers. Callie’s lifelong passion is the intersection of lurid fairy tales and Gothic literature—which is why she’s found herself at Fairwick’s renowned folklore department, living in a once-stately Victorian house that, at first sight, seemed to call her name.

But Callie soon realizes that her dreams are alarmingly real. She has a demon lover—an incubus—and he will seduce her, pleasure her, and eventually suck the very life from her. Then Callie makes another startling discovery: Her incubus is not the only mythical creature in Fairwick. As the tenured witches of the college and the resident fairies in the surrounding woods prepare to cast out the demon, Callie must accomplish something infinitely more difficult—banishing this supernatural lover from her heart

A Promise to love
Anne Kramer and Mike Hendricks

I was looking forward to reading a promise to love after i finished Love and pain.

The Story starts where it left off and follows Ming's life after she recovers from breast cancer. After establishing a relationship with the charming Nick who was there for her during her treatment. The story follows their relationship as they try to establish their home together and make it work from half way across America. Ming is happy at work and working on establishing her career as a doctor. But with tension between her and nick growing ,a shock twin brother and opportunities to go abroad will Ming get her happy ending?

Just like the first book this one was equally as heart warming it shows that in some cases there is a life after breast cancer! Again i would love to have seen the book expanded but it is good as a short story. I think this book provided a lovley end to what happend to all the people in the story.

reading the two books together provided a heart warming story!

Love And Pain
Anne Kramer and Mike Hendricks

I got Given this book to read by Anne on twitter so had no idea what to expect but i enjoyed reading the book and thought it was a heart warming story and also an effective way to help promote Breast cancer awareness!

Ming has just graduated from med school and has her whole life ahead of her! living in California she has plans and ambitions to become a doctor and open her own surgery but her plans are halted when she experiences pain in her breast, thinking it is nothing Ming goes to have it checked and discovers she has stage one breast cancer. the book follows her journey through surgery and therapy, her climb to get her dream job and her experience of finding love.

I really enjoyed the book it was heart warming seeing how her family and friends all pulled together to support Ming. i would like to have seen the book expanded  a bit more so you have more information about how Ming was feeling going through this experience but as the book is short i thing the descriptions that are detailed in the book are adequate. The book is a lovely read and can be read rather quickly has it is only 104 pages.

I enjoyed seeing the lifes of all the characters play out. I loved Mings brother Aiden as he reminded me of my own and in someways adds a funny side to the story which is in contrast to the serious side of Ming having Breast cancer. I thought Ming was a very strong and outgoing and loved following her story!  I look forward to reading A Promise to Love and see what is next for her!

I would recommend this book i think it puts forward a serious situation that has effected nearly everyone of us! I think the book puts forward the point that Breast Cancer can be beat and i found it scary that i am in the same position as Ming was and it is scary how quickly your life can change but also heart warming and how many people are there for support. I look Forward to the next one!!

Love Lines (Love lines #1)
Diana Nixon

Goodreads: Love lines series -The traces of supernatural powers have always been crossing the world of human beings. Many people know about the existence of healers, mind readers, oneiromancers and wizards. But for centuries their lives have been kept secret and no one has ever heard about one special place, where those gifted people studied.
Neither has Eileen Clark, whose life has never been different from the one other teenagers have. But one day everything changes. Eileen finds out that she belongs to the mysterious world of unnatural and the destiny leads her to Dever - a closed university for the people like her.Nothing will ever be the same again...New life, new friends, new enemies...But the true love will never let her down. #1 - Love lines The story begins with a strange dream, which has been torturing Eileen for nights. Trying to find out its hidden meaning she leans on her best friend Amanda for help. The two of them go to a fortune-teller, who predicts changes in Eileen's life. Eileen and Amanda, whose family is one of the seven founders of Dever, go there to start new life and get education. Coming to the university Eileen meets Christian, Amanda's brother, whom she falls in love with from the very first sight. But, as it turns out later, Christian is in love with her too.
They couldn't even imagine that many years ago their lives were bound by magical spells. But now they have to find out why...

I didn't no what to expect when i first read this book. I have read many super-natural books so was hoping this book wouldn't just be a cookie cutter of one of them and i have to say i was pleasantly surprised it was for from what i expected and far exceed my expectations!

Eileen is a Normal 17 year old girl, who is haunted by a dream!  In an attempt to understand her dream she goes with her best friend Amanda to a fortune teller where she is told her life will change forever! and she is not wrong  that day Eileen is taken to Dever a university designed for gifted people... and not just any gift supernatural ones!  Not only is she taken to Dever but her best friends family are one of seven founding members! Her life is out of her control when she meets Christian Amanda's older brother, she feels and instant connection to him and by the look on his face he feels it to! But with evil plans against her  in play Eileen's life  is in danger, with Christian and her friends by her side they hunt for clues as to who is behind the plan and uncover some shocking truth and secrets that have been hidden for years! with lies and secrets and time running out will Eileen make it to her 18th birthday or will something more sinister happen!

I can not praise this book enough, i literally can not find fault! it was just amazing! from the first chapter i was hooked! The writing style is clear and good and the story line is amazing. When reading this book you are constantly on your toe! the story-line is so cleverly weaved together!just when you think you have it the rug is pulled from underneath you.  you get bits of the puzzle piece and every time you think you know what is happening   something unexpected happens, you never get that one bit of the puzzle that will make it all fall in to place until never the end! I sat for ages think " oh she did it " or "he is involved" the i was completely wrong and that is what i loved most! this book has the most complex plot and hats of to  Diana i have never seen a more will well thought out and carefully laid out plot! The way everything comes together you are just sitting go wow!
Not only is the plot amazing but it has action, magic and romance!

I loved all the main characters in this book! Eileen is just brilliant! she's strong, confident and determined and made ma laugh so much! I loved Christian because part of him is so loving towards Eileen but at the same time he is so bad ass and can create fire with the flick of a hand! Amanda is so funny and her relation ship with Evan is a recipe for hilarious disaster! I Literally loved all the Characters all the Fairey family are my favorites along side Evan an darcy!

I promise if you read this book you will not be disappointed! it is amazing! and the book ends on a cliff hanger! i cant wait for the next book i need to no what happens and what will happen to Eileen and Christian!

Night Thief (Night Series book # 0.5)
Lisa Kessler

Published: 28th of September 2012, Entangled Publishing
Good Reads: After the fall of the Mayan civilization, Kane, an immortal Night Walker, has taken refuge in France for over 800 years. The modern world holds little interest for him until the night he meets the Golden Thief and is robbed of much more than his pocket watch.

Marguerite Rousseau is living a double life. By day she is the assistant to an eccentric French artist, Antoine Berjon, and by night she dons elegant evening gowns to woo French dignitaries before lifting their wallets. Sparks ignite when Kane captures the thief, but Marguerite harbors a dark secret that could ruin them both

Hey Everyone ! I've tried a slightly different layout so let me no what you think, old way or new? Just like Night walker when i read this book i wasn't disappointed! I had to read this book after reading Night walker and i loved every minute i was totally hooked i read it in one sit!

Marguerite walks the dining rooms  of France elevating Rich Men from the burden of carrying their heavy wallets.  she has great plans for the future and lets nothing stand in her way not even lack of money!  Her plans to run are falling in to place until she meets Kane a Rich Gentleman living in France . With both of them harbouring Lustful desire and earth shaking secrets will her plans to escape come true or will she end up being the one having something stolen from her?

Just like night walker i loved this book! I love the Characters and was completely sucked in to the story i found myself shouting at the book! The writing is once again amazing and the story line is equally amazing. I have to say 50 shades of grey eat you heart out, this book has some rather raunchy moments in and still manages to have an amazing and coherent story! It is one of the things i love about these books, the author captures the raw passion between the characters and contrasts that with forbidden love, a softer romance, action and danger! i seriously can not find a single fault with this book.

I loved both the main characters in this book, Kane is just one of those amazingly swoon worth guys that every girl drools over! He is so macho and full of power and action but then on the other hand  is so soft and gentle with rita but you also see this raw passion, this then stand in contrast to the vulnerable side that you see when he is fearful for her life or is lonely and remembering his past! all in all you will just love him! Equally Rita is just so funny! she's hard, witty, confidant and really in control, but like Kane you see a vulnerable side when you find out what her life is really like, but you also see the loving and passionate side, the side that is willing to give up the sun to be with Kane. that is what i loved about these two characters, they both have secrets both can look after them self but feel whole together, its really cute.

I can not what for Night Demon to come out!!! I would highly recommend this book and definitely this series! 5*

Night walker (Night series Book #1)
Lisa Kessler

I just finished reading across the veil when i decided to read this book.  I had high hopes for the book after reading Lisa's other book but this book far exceeded my expectations!!

When calisto's true love  Tala is murdered by the very priest's he serves under he will give anything for another chance to love her again. He lives as a night Walker for centuries and finally there he is in the form of Kate! Calisto is over come with thought of them being together and finally being able to love the woman he loved so many years ago! but does fate have another plan for him? when the past comes back to haunt him will he be able to carve a new path for him and Kate or will history repeat itself?

I absolutely loved this book! it far exceed my expectations! i can not find one fault with this book i loved everything about it. The story-line was amazing there were tricks and turns and surprises! fights, action , romance everything! the writing style is excellent! i loved the characters i just got sucked in to the story and couldn't put the book down!

I loved Calisto! he was so sweet! He loved Tala and Kate so much and was even willing to live for centuries for the chance to love her again! he is the typical swoonworth guy! I love the contrast of emotions he feels for Kate he is over joyed that she is once again on the earth but at the same time filled with sorrow that because of loving him she is once again in danger! When i first started reading this book Calisto was just hell bent on getting Tala back and i felt sorry for Kate because he was seeing her as Tala and i can imagine its kind of like your partner loving you because you look like their ex and not you but by the end i think Tala was somewhat forgotten when he realized he loved Kate for Kate and more than that he loved Kate more as there had more in common. I loved Kate to she is such a strong female character and she made me laugh so much and am so glad there was a happy ending.
In contrast i hated Jose, he was evil! Quite possibly the most evil man i have ever read about! disgusting evil individual is all i can say about him.

I absolutely loved this book! it was amazing i loved everything about it! i would definitely recommend it!

Hare Moon (The forest of hands and teeth # 0.5)
Carrie Ryan

I wanted to read Hare Moon because i have just finished The forest of hands and Teeth, this was the second prequel i have read and i really enjoyed it.

The book follows Tabitha (the head of the sisterhood in The forest of hands and teeth) as a young adult with the same free spirit, same blind curiosity that Mary has! When she sneaks out of the gate to the village she has an unexpected surprise! There is a male in the forest telling stories of another village. when she is found and sent to live with the sisterhood she discovers all kinds of secrets and must decided, blind curiosity , freedom and love or the safety and survival of her village! Will she allow love to consume her or will she do anything to help her village? the decision is squarely on her shoulders.

I have to say i enjoyed this book, its only short and provides a good back story to why the sisterhood is the way it is and why they keep so many secrets from the village!
I think if you read this you get a much better understanding of why Tabitha, in The forest of hands and Teeth i hated her! After reading this book i feel sorry for her and see that she is trying to protect Mary from following the same path as she did!

If you like The forest of hands and Teeth i would recommend this book as a good back story i think it really helps to understand the story a bit better.
i really enjoyed it  another amazing zombie filled book by Carrie Ryan 3*

Carrie Ryan
The forest of Hands & Teeth

Well i think it is safe to say that  am in love with zombie books! I got this this book for my birthday because it was recommended by a friend and am glad that i got it!!

Stuck in a small village fenced in and surrounded by the forest of hands and teeth Mary dreams of the world her mother tells her about, a world with an ocean! when her mother is infected by the unconsecrated ( the zombies) Mary loses everything. With both parents lost to the forest she is sent by brother Jed to live with the sisterhood the rulers of the town.when an outsider comes to the cathedral Mary starts to question the sisters and finds out secrets the rest of the village don't no.she questions whether there is a world outside the fence and whether the ocean is out there! When the fence is breached and Mary's village is under attack Mary has a chance to escape the village with her almost husband harry his brother Travis who Mary is in love with  her friend Cass, her brother and his wife and a small boy Jacob. In trying to survive life outside the village the group most fine a way to shelter food and resources but as we all know plans don't always go as planned! Will the group find shelter and food away from the unconsecrated? will Mary finally find the ocean and will it be all she expects?

I loved this book but at the same time i found it heartbreaking! I found the book a little slow to get in to at first it spends a lot of time setting up the seen and explaining the rules of the village. the book is rather dark and doesn't have many happy life is good moments it really makes you think and you feel really sorry for some of the characters. it is still an amazing book!! just if you like happy endings your not going to get one. if you like complicated romance, action and zombies this is the book for you!

At the beginning of the book i felt so sorry for Mary Harry who she doesn't love asks her to marry him, She loses her mother to the forest of hands and teeth and she is sent by her raged brother to go and live with the sisterhood! In the village survival is dependent on people having children hence marriage is based on commitment not love which is why Mary doesn't want to marry harry but his brother Travis! so when Travis is brought top the sisters and Mary sits and tells stories of the ocean to him i still feel sorry for her because Travis's future wife is also there! however when she leaves the village i stop feeling sorry for her she is an irritating little moan! as the village was invaded she gets out of her marriage to harry and gets stuck in a house alone with Travis which is what she's always wanted! and guess what she sits in the attic ignoring him! in short she would put her dream of seeing the ocean before love! i live on the see front and see the sea everyday so can imagine what it would be like not to no what it looks like but would i give love up to see it?... no! what is the point in seeing something wonderful if the people you love aren't there to see it with you?
Travis i loved he was the sweetest guy ever! there were  a lot of awww moments! but no happy ending i so badly wanted her and Travis to find the ocean at the end but am afraid not

The book does leave a lot unanswered Is her brother still alive? do the rest of the group survive? does she go back to help then? how many people are outside the fence? is there any survivors in her old village?
The book seems to end suddenly with no real conclusion, i think the book could have been longer because somethings aren't explain very well .
All the same i cant wait to read the rest of the series and i hope some of my questions will be answered!

Sunday, 7 October 2012

Hey everyone!! its a lovely cosy Sunday night what is everyone reading???  I've barley has time to read this week so i picked up were i left off reading The forest of hands and teeth by Carrie  Ryan!

I am on page 181 of 308 and  aim to get to 208 of 308 by the end of tonight. I have to say so far that i am loving it!  I think it captures the two sides of love really well! it shows how love is a beautiful thing and marrying for any other reason is  pointless beyond survival!  it demonstrates how being in love can be the greatest thing on the earth, it can be a great gift. it can give you something to fight for, to die for, to cry for. to have someone to be there for you, to hug you, someone to witness and share your life and give you hope for the future. i think the story shows how we take love for granted some times and what a world where it is in short supply is like. i think it also demonstrates how love can be evil! i think the story shows how love can be fueled by jealousy and desire, can cause people to lie to the ones they love, can  make people step on people, hurt people  and do dramatic things for love. i like this contrast the fight for forbidden love and the lies and deceit fueled by love.
there is my little rant about love for the day! my opinion...... i sit on the fence! there will be romantics among you  (kayleigh) who believe that in this book and in life that the to perfect for each other characters should be together and there are the unromantic who believe that love is an evil thing if it causes characters to lie and deceive others even if in a round about way it is to protect them.
i would recommend this book if you love zombies, romance and action!!

Sunday, 30 September 2012

Hey everyone its Sunday and the last day in the month! what is everyone reading today??? I've just started
The forest of hands & teeth by Carrie Ryan
I have just Finished heaven sent us an angel!!

Heaven sent us an Angel
Alison Grey

I have read a few books that talk about the life of the author but this book was slightly different as it was a dedication to Alison's mother!

The book follows Alison from a young child till the present day.It describes the struggles of her mother, the story starts when Sylvia Grey tells Alison she is pregnant with her 3rd child. it follows her struggle to deal with the death of her son Ashley, care for her parents, care for her daughter after a accident, care for her dying husband and looking after her son who was born with cerebral palsy, hearing and sight problems. sadly Sylvia Grey dies of heart failure and this book shows her struggles and what a loving mother she is, it also shows how a evil (her words not mine) selfish child can mature in to a loving and selfless woman when faced with losing both parents and being left responsible for her younger brother.

I have to say i wasn't sure about this book. Alison is a lovely person but i wasn't sure i would be about to read such an emotional story without getting upset or feel like i was intruding on someones most personal moments!
I am glad i kept reading! This story  was very emotional for me and i found i connected with the story straight away as it happened practically on my door step. Alison's nana reminded me of my nana the way she had to feed everyone, look after everyone and would do anything to help her family. in a way this story was upsetting for me because it reminded me so much of my nana and highlighted all that i have lost but in another way it made me smile because it reminded me of her so bad and Alison shows how you can come out the other side of losing someone close to you! Alison also pointed out that elderly people although it is still not easy saying good bye have lived an exceptional life and have achieved everything they wanted!so in away this book was emotional for me as it reminded me of the death of my nana and cried when Alison's nana and mam died! but also made me smile at the stupid things the people in the north do.

If you are not from the northeast of England you may not understand some of the phases used in the story. It does take a few chapters to get in to the story as it jumps around in time for a while to set the seen for the rest of the book so you have to follow the book carefully to keep up. There is a few spelling mistakes but that can be cover looked by the emotional story.

this was a lovely book, it was heartbreaking, heart wrenching and beautiful! i feel honored to have met Alison's family! it was well worth reading! It did take a while to get in to but once the story really starts its tear jerking! 3*

FEED (newslesh #1)
Mira Grant

I got this book as a birthday present from my brother after i nagged him over and over again to get it.
First i should say i have absolutely no idea what am going to say or how am going to start this review! the book was just that awesome!

Imagine a world where the common cold is a thing of the past, where cancer no longer exists, that is the world Georgia and Shaun mason live in! sounds amazing right? wrong! in this world something more sinister is at play! a virus that once infected with turns humans in to zombies! when the media failed  to report the virus out break and lied and the public ran for safety the only people willing to come out of hiding and dance with the zombies were bloggers, determined to tell the truth and get the word out! Feed follows the lives of Georgia and Shaun mason and there professional team of bloggers.  Georgia and Shaun get the opportunity of a life time when they are accepted  to follow the presidential campaign and report  the truth on all the comings and goings of the possible next president of America. what they didn't realise is the size of the truth they would stumble upon! with corrupt politicians against them and three zombie attacks on there campaign trail  and attempts on their lives the team start to realise this is no coincidence, with people they can trust dwindling and the net closing around them the team most act fast to discover the truth and that truth may just come at a cost!

When i first started this book i found it a little hard to get i to, i was expecting a story where the zombies tried to kill humans and humans desperately fought back or where a girl falls in love with one of the zombies and i was completely wrong! Because the book was the first i have read that is based around politics i found it abit hard to get in to, once i started to get in to the book and the story started moving i was totally hooked! i thought i would miss the fact that the book had no romance in but i didn't! so much happened and it is just non-stop action i didn't have time to miss it! from the first page to the last i was sucked in and felt like i was on this journey with the characters! the writing style was amazing! by the end of this book i was actually hysterically crying! i have only ever cried an p.s i love you and the note book and never have i cried so much i couldn't read the next page! it was so emotional! i was literally heartbroken! i seriously morned!

I feel in love with Shaun within the first few pages when he was poking a zombie with a stick! i seriously made me laugh so much! while people are worrying and being serious he doesn't have a care in the world! he does the most risky and kick ass stuff and is just totally awesome! i think he made the parts of the book that were heavy more light heart! what i loved about Shaun's character is that you see his wild hard side but also his safe side that does not risk the safety of him and his sister and you also see how much he loves is sister and it is nice to see that close connection! at the end of the book you see a destroyed version of Shaun who doesn't want to risk anything, doesn't want to poke zombies with a stick and it's heart breaking!

what can i say about Georgia i just totally loved her! anyone who knows me will tell you she is just my twin sister. she controls everything, has a plan for everything and everything is done her way or no way! i love her no shit attitude and how she never looks pleased to see someone just for there benefit she has the same you rather love me or hate me attitude i have and according to the people in my gym this is a bad thing! hell no! i just love the way she doesn't take no for an answer! she is totally kick ass even when her life is in the balance she has strength and bravery some could only wish for. she hides behind this hard persona but you see the side that does care when you see her relationship with her brother! and i love this contrast!

I can actually not articulate how good this book is! it is just amazing! i was unsure if i would like it at first but i am so glad that i read it and so glad that kayleigh  http://k-booksxo.blogspot.co.uk/ recommended it! note though have tissues ready! lots of them heart wrenching is and understatement!
if you like dystopian or zombie books then this is your calling
one of the best books i have ever read! 5* ammmmmazing!

Snow White and the Huntsman
lily Blake, Evan Daugherty, John Lee Hancock and Hossein Amini

I read this book simple becuase i went ot the pictures to see the film and loved it so i thought why not (plus there is a poster of Chris Hemsworth in the back... can you really resist that!)

Am sure you all no the story of snow white but this is the bed time story with a kick!
When the king is lead in to battle against a formidable army he is thrown off guard when the opponent shatter in to pieces and are defeatend in momnets, realing in his vicory the king is blind to the dark forces at hand and fails to see it staring hi in the face but the name of Ravenna! descised as a prisoner the king is enchanted but her beauty. Soon after there are due to be married with snow white in  toe Ravenna walks the ailse sealing the kings fate and extracting revenge for her family. that night she kills the king and takes comand of the village unleashing darkness, stravation and war upon its people! but one little princess has a nack for survival. 10 years passed and snow white remained a prisoner in the castle, until the day she escaped! meeting unlikely friends, make extrodanary journeys  will she find her way to the dukes castle and rain war down on the evil queen  or will the queen find her first? can she protect her heart from a queen who wants to steal it or a manwho wishes to own it?

I really enjoyed this book i loved the movie and this book just explained more of the thoughts and emotions of the character in the book. at the end of the movei i got really irriataed that she didnt end uo with any of the main characters but in the book she describes william as a friends and shows she has feeling for the huntsman. i loved the story line of the book the story kept to the basic concept of the original story but put a modern twist on it!

The huntsman *sigh* i love the fact i have a picture for this! i loved the huntsman even more in the book than in the film! he is just the cutest! i love the different sides of eric that you see. you see the heart breaking fact he lost his wife to the queen the angrer and grief he goes through  and the amount of drinking he does to numb the pain, you also he a happier side when he falls for snow white he stops drink and turns him self arouns so it was nice to see the contrast between  this heart wrenching side and happier non- vulnrable manly side! i love the way they used the huntsman in this version in the original story her hunts her then reurns to the queen with a pigs heart. in this version he goes on the run with her, teaches her to fight and helps defet the queen and take her right as queen!

I loved snow white in the book. in the original story shes all girly and cant really do a thing for herself but in this book she is kind and all animals and people love her and she is the one to bring down the queen but also he takes no crao and rages a full scale  war on the castle which is kind of kick ass! at the begining of the book you a vulnarbel snow white she has no family and shes lock in a tower where a creepy perv keeps watching her but after her escape you see a more determined and tough side to her which i loved!

I

I have to say that the quenn was one of my faverite characters! i love the psychologival aaspect to her. she rages war on the king because he killed her family she uses powers of suduction to manipulate men! its just deliciposuly evil! i feel sorry for the queen in a way because she lost her family and i think that is why she starts the war but also i think it is why she keeps snow white alive, she lost her mother also and the queen killed her father. there are times in this book when the queen is hard and you hate her but also times when she is soft and vunaerbale and almost child like!

i thought the action, fantasy  and romance worked really well in this book! one minute it sad then happy then funny then huntsmans style swoonworthy! i really enjoyed it! i would give it 3*
